The short version: Dare Roll has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Everything you create in the app is stored on your device, and we never see it.
Who we are
Dare Roll (“the app”, “we”) is an iPhone app made by Marek Salurand (mareks.ee). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and this website.
What the app stores, and where
To work as a photo diary, the app keeps the following locally on your device only:
- Photos you take or pick for a dare, and smaller preview copies of them.
- Your dare history: which dare, which day, completion dates, rerolls, streaks and collection progress.
- Your settings, such as reminder times and hard mode.
None of this is uploaded to us or anyone else. The app does not connect to the internet to send or receive your data.
If you use iCloud Backup or computer backups, iOS may include the app's data in those backups. Apple handles that under Apple's Privacy Policy.
Permissions we ask for
Camera
Used only so you can photograph a dare. Photos go straight into your local diary.
Photo library (choose a photo)
When you upload a photo, iOS's system photo picker shows your library. The app only receives the photo you pick and cannot see the rest of your library.
Photo library (add only)
Used only when you choose to save a share card or photo to your Photos. The app can add images but not read your library.
Notifications
Used for your daily dare reminder and “maybe later” nudges. These are scheduled on your device. No push server is involved.
You can change any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Dare Roll.
Sharing
When you tap Share, the app hands the image to the standard iOS share sheet. Where it goes next (Messages, Instagram, etc.) is up to you and covered by that app's own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- No account, sign-up, email or phone number is required.
- No analytics, crash-reporting SDKs, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- No location data is collected.
- We don't sell, rent or share personal data, because we don't have any.

Deleting your data
You're in control. Remove a single entry from its detail screen, use Profile → Settings → Erase everything to wipe the whole diary, or delete the app, which removes all of its data from your device.
This website
This site doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy.
The “Try one” feature on the home page runs entirely in your browser. Your camera feed and any photo you pick are processed locally and never uploaded.
Children
Dare Roll doesn't knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country), because it collects none at all.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU/EEA), you have rights to access, correct and delete personal data. Because all app data stays on your device and we hold none, you can exercise these rights directly in the app. If you have any questions, get in touch.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the app ever starts collecting data, this policy will be updated before that happens.
